I like how busy this photo is, and how it says a lot about our trip. We spent a lot of time walking, with me falling behind as I took pictures. The Capitol is sitting casually in the left middle, reminding me where I was. And the clear sky and winter trees show when the trip was taken.

It’s true, isn’t it? A picture is worth a thousand words.

That’s right, folks, it’s that time again! Tara and I both are going to give this another shot.

I liked the effect in this photo- the top is blurred, but the bottom is clear. I’m not entirely sure how this happened.

That’s right, folks. My blog now lives at this address so Melissa can read it. All new entries will be posted there, not here. Huzzah!

It’s almost spring, and it’s about time! I’m so sick of winter and cold, so it was a very welcome sight to see little flowers poking above the mass of dead leaves beside the campus sidewalk leading up to the science building. Of course, I had to stop and take a few pictures. What I didn’t know was that Mom and Laura were waiting in the car for me, and it turns out that they could see me from where they were parked. So I had to explain why I would suddenly stop in my tracks, bend over for a few minutes, then get back up (since that’s all they could see me do). It was definitely an interesting conversation.

It’s a beelum, though I’m pretty sure that’s not how it’s spelled. Abby told me the women in Papua New Guinea wear them around their heads and use them to carry just about anything, from babies to groceries. This one happens to belong to Elizabeth.

Ah, Scragg, the fluffy little warrior helmet that hangs on car mirrors. This is probably Scragg the Second, since the original belonged to Mel. I love these little guys- I’m going to buy one for when I start driving.

‘Kay, there’s something wrong with this picture. I was getting a fork earlier today and just had to show you this. There are more knives than actual silverware in our drawer. Scary, isn’t it?

You know, I’m not actually sure if I took this. I’d like to say I did -it’s a fabulous picture- but I can’t. I’ll have to ask.
