‘Kay, there’s something wrong with this picture. I was getting a fork earlier today and just had to show you this. There are more knives than actual silverware in our drawer. Scary, isn’t it?

asleep, originally uploaded by Chupperwidge.

Lately, since my room has been so warm (I’ve left the vent all the way open because it’s been so dang cold) Lady’s taken to sleeping with her head out of the blanket. This particular day she was on her back and stretched completely out, and it was so adorable that I had to take a picture.

I never much cared for the Super Bowl, but it’s always fun to watch the new commercials and to hang out with friends. So when Tiffani and Laura and Dana decided to paint their faces, I wanted to join in. Tiffani went with the Giants colors, Laura sided with the Patriots, and Dana supported the Ravens. At first I tried to paint my face with the Giants colors, but it burned my skin slightly and made me itch, so I washed it off. I had to have something, though, so after a look at Dana, I shamelessly stole her idea and painted the initials of the Indianapolis Colts on my hands, where the paint itched significantly less. I think we all had more fun painting ourselves than we did actually watching the Super Bowl.

stabbing the cake, originally uploaded by Chupperwidge.

…I’m not a violent person. Really. Dad had started to cut the cake before we realized we hadn’t gotten a picture of me with it, so he passed it to me with the knife still in it. Jokingly, I grabbed it and pulled a goofy face, and this is the result.

So, it’s my birthday! People keep asking me if seventeen feels any different than sixteen, and my response is always no. It surprised me most of the time that I was sixteen, and it’s even more surprising now to think that I’m only a year away from ceasing to be a minor… I always wondered why they didn’t just call non-minors majors. It’s not like we’d get it confused with military terminology if it was used in context. Anyway, it was a great day. I got to start it off with Sarah and Joe, go home and play video games -Dynasty Warriors 5, specifically- eat one of my favorite dinners with my family, and have ice cream cake and presents with the Gifts. Fabulous way to spend a birthday- I highly recommend it.

ferret in my drawer, originally uploaded by Chupperwidge.

Ferrets are amazing little creatures. Mine got under my dresser (one of her favorite places to stash her little toys and rubber knick-knacks, by the way) where she somehow managed to climb all the way up to the top drawer -a departure from her normal sleeping place in the bottom one- and fall asleep in a bundle of socks. And she’s considered a senior in ferret years. Go figure.

Ah, my little punk-weasel. I can always count on her to cheer me up when I’m stressed or feeling down. =)
