A Teeny-Tiny Break July 3, 2007

Technically, I’m supposed to be at camp right now, but I’m not. Instead, I’m playing Guitar Hero and getting on the Internet.
Now, before you start to wonder whether I got fired, I’ll tell you the rest of it; I caught a ride home with Carrie (a friend from church- Trisha’s older sister, for anyone who doesn’t know) since this week is day camp and the staff doesn’t really do anything at night anyway. She wanted to see friends because she’d only just gotten home from college when she had to go to camp. Me, I just wanted to see Grandpa, take a shower in a nice bathroom, sleep in my own bed, play with my ferret, check my email, and play video games. And my bosses are so nice, they let me go anyway. Of course, it’s not like I told them any of that. Just that I wanted to go home ’cause I could.
Speaking of my bosses, I have like five, and they’re all really cool. Actually, all the staff refer to them by their first names, and I only refer to them as my bosses because it sounds cool, and also because I don’t know what else to call them. But yeah, they rock. And so do the people I work with. I love my coworkers- they’re a great bunch of people. There are at least twice as many girls as guys, and it’s kinda funny. I don’t really see much of the counselors when I’m working in the kitchen, but during free time for campers, kitchen crew is allowed to roam around the campus and hang out with kids (and whatever counselor happens to be near, even though we’re not supposed to “counselor-clump”). And we get two free snacks per day. The food is excellent, too. I’ve also really grown spiritually since being there (even for only two weeks). I’m hoping that the rest of the summer will be as cool as the first weeks. I suppose we’ll see about that after I get home on the 28th. =)
I’d like to make this longer; there’ s so much more to tell! But I have to get up at 6 tomorrow so I’ll be ready for Carrie to pick me up, so I’m going to bed early. Hope you have a great few weeks.
Oh, and have a happy Independence Day!
