Lots o’ Stuff June 18, 2006

We're on our way to Myrtle Beach, and we're about an hour and a half away. The car trip has gone by really fast- a lot faster than I expected. I slept for an hour or so, and then I listened to music for a while. Afterwards, Melissa and I watched a few episodes of Home Movies and the third Harry Potter movie. We stopped inbetween at a rest stop for lunch, and a couple other times for bathroom trips, but I really can't figure out where the time has gone. Maybe I've gotten better at entertaining myself, or maybe it's just that my perception of time has changed. Plus Tara's randomness has been keeping us all on our toes. Whatever the reason, it's been a nice car trip. And for the first time ever, I'm not excited about going to the beach. Of course I want to see Bill and Georgiana, but the thought of hanging out at the beach doesn't excite me like it used to. Weird, huh? But kinda expected, since I've lived on an island for almost a year, and have had nearly unlimited access to the coolest beach I've ever been to (Bellows, of course). It'll still be fun to be on vacation, though. I didn't think I'd need once since our trip to PA is kind of like a vacation, but the idea of being somewhere that isn't Pennsylvania or Hawaii and doesn't involve lots and lots of family visits (not that there's anything wrong with any of those) sounds pretty good right now.

I suppose I should have started out by saying this, but I'm sorry that I haven't blogged in so long. Honestly, I just haven't felt like it. I've had plenty of time, but blogging has been the last thing on my mind. I actually did attempt once when we first got home… on notecards… but they somehow never made it to my computer. We've got a ways to go, so I can update you on what's been going on.

First of all, when we got home, we saw pretty much everyone in the first few weeks. Been spending as much time as possible with the Gifts, sleeping over once or twice a week. I think the first week I spent about four days at their house… almost straight. I've been to Joy's to spend the night, I had Trisha over for a night, and Katie's family came and had dinner with us once, too. Mom and Mel and I went to see Polly and Jim, and afterwards we visited with Tammy Monday and her kids. All of it was fun, especially since I haven't seen these people in months.

The Gifts, Mom, Mel, and I went to the Baltimore Aquarium last week, which was pretty cool. They had a new Australia exhibit up, but it was rather disappointing; there wasn't even anything about the Great Barrier Reef. They had cool bats, though. And cool lizards.

We're also planning a trip to Hershey Park eventually, but I dunno when that's gonna fit in.

My laptop battery is wearing down, so I'm stoppin' now.
