Tara and Dave came home last weekend for Dad’s birthday, and we had a blast. It was a great weekend, and the house was lovably loud. Dave’s two friends came and stayed the night, too. They were very friendly people, and it was fun to have them here as well. It was hard to say goodbye, but no one could cry between laughing fits. Tara decided to make us laugh by hugging Mom and fake sobbing very loudly in the Uno’s parking lot. It was hilarious! I thought it was fitting that we ended our great weekend laughing.

I went to Dana’s birthday party on Friday at the YMCA. It was great, and Laura, her friend Kimmy, and I had a lot of fun together. Dana’s ten now. I can hardly believe it! I feel old.

Nothing much is going on at school except for a mock election and the fundraiser kick off. I am reading the Redwall books, and I happen to think they’re fantastic! I’ve read Mossflower and Redwall so far. As for poetry, it just ended and I think that I’m the only one who isn’t glad it’s over. No one in my class seemed to like it much. Tara, you asked for poems, and I don’t remember that many of mine. There are like four, but I only remember one of them. I’ll post the others once we get our papers back.

My Colors
At home I’m electric lime,
Vivacious and crazy,
Loving life and living out,
Craving attention like chocolate.

But at school I’m passive blue,
Shy and softspoken,
Quiet and withdrawn in studies,
Wanting no attention.

That was my first one. It was also the shortest, so that’s why I remembered it. Well, I gotta go to bed now. I’m really tired. Incredibly long week.
